The elderly have lower metabolic rate, lower body volume of water, lower muscle mass, but the application of such particularities to the determination of the hemodialysis dose is not clarified. KtV On Line through ultraviolet absorbance in spent dialysate avoids inaccuracies associated with the estimation of urea volume distribution.
